Prof Michele Corleto

Michele Corleto is a legal scholar specialized in international law, human rights, and sports law. He is currently Associate Professor of International Law at the Faculty of Law of Pegaso University. He holds a PhD in Law and Economics from the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa and has conducted research at the Hague Academy of International Law and the Max Planck Institute for Public International Law in Heidelberg.

Throughout his career, he has combined academic research with active participation in European and international projects on human rights, migration, and legal governance. He has served as Academic Coordinator of the Jean Monnet Module “Fu.C.C.E. – The Future of Criminal Cooperation in the European Union”, and as Deputy Coordinator of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on Migrants’ Rights in the Mediterranean. He is also a member of the Jean Monnet Network “MAPS – Migration and Asylum Policy Systems”, and Scientific Coordinator of the ECLJ Project on EU Competition Law for National Judges, funded by the European Commission.

He has also worked as Legal Expert for the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) within the EU project “Strategic and Institutional Management of Migration in Libya”. His engagement extends to civil society, as a member of PRO-RIGHTS, an association promoting human rights through legal support and experiential learning.

Within the field of sports law, he is part of the International and European Sports Law Group of the Italian Society of International Law (SIDI), the International Sport Lawyers Association (ISLA), and the ACLI Campania Sports Union, combining his expertise in law and governance with a focus on integrity, inclusion, and ethical standards in sport.

Sport Law

Stefano Bastianon

Stefano Bastianon is a Full Professor of European Union Law at the University of Bergamo and one of Europe’s leading experts in sports law, EU competition law, and regulatory governance. Holding a PhD in EU Law from the University of Bologna, he combines academic excellence with extensive professional practice as a lawyer and arbitrator. He serves as an Arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne and as a Member of the Sports Guarantee Board (Fourth Section) at the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI), where he contributes to ensuring compliance, transparency, and procedural fairness in sports governance.

Professor Bastianon’s research and professional activity focus on the intersection between EU law, market regulation, and the governance of sport, with a particular interest in competition policy, financial fair play, and the evolving legal framework of professional and digital sports. He lectures at the European College of Parma and frequently participates as a speaker at international conferences on sports governance and EU regulatory reform.

Business and Human Rights

Marco Fasciglione

Marco Fasciglione is a Researcher in International Law and Human Rights at the Italian National Research Council (CNR), where he has worked since 2011. He is Vice President of Human Rights International Corner (HRIC) and Associate Editor of the journal Human Rights and International Law, as well as a peer reviewer for several national and international legal publications.

Dr. Fasciglione is also a Member of the Management Board of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), contributing to the development of EU policies on human rights protection and regulatory coherence. Since 2018, he has co-directed the Business and Human Rights Summer School, reinforcing his expertise in legal training and capacity building on corporate responsibility and ethical governance. His judicial and advisory experience includes serving as a Judge at the NATO Mission Appeals Tribunal (MAT).
His work focuses on business and human rights compliance, corporate accountability, and environmental due diligence, with extensive experience in integrating human rights standards into business operations, contractual frameworks, and governance systems. He currently leads the CO.R.E Project, dedicated to corporate human rights and environmental due diligence.
Within the LEGENDS project, he contributes to modules on human rights, corporate responsibility, and ethical contracting in the sports and esports industries, ensuring that legal education in sports governance is firmly anchored in international human rights principles.

Giuseppe Cataldi is a Full Professor of International Law at the University of Naples “L’Orientale”, where he currently serves as Director of the Department of Human and Social Sciences.
As recognized scholar in international and European law, his work focuses on international law, human rights, migration studies, governance, and institutional reform.

He has served as Pro-Rector of the University (2008–2014) and as Visiting Professor at the University of Córdoba and Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University. Professor Cataldi is President of the International Association for the Law of the Sea (AssIDMer) and Co-Director of the journals Diritti umani e diritto internazionale and the Italian Yearbook of International Law.

He has coordinated several EU-funded initiatives, including the Jean Monnet Network “MAPS – Migration and Asylum Policy Systems”, previously held a Jean Monnet Chair on the Protection of Human Rights in Europe and is currently holder of the Jean Monnet Module "Sea of Laws". As a member of the Board of PRO-RIGHTS, an NGO promoting legal capacity building in human rights, he brings extensive experience in European legal education and governance—expertise that directly supports the project’s multidisciplinary approach to law and ethics in the sports sector.
